About the event
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the XI Radiocarbon and Archaeology International Symposium, to be held in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 30 June to 3 July 2026. The conference will bring together researchers, students, and professionals from around the world working with radiocarbon and related approaches applied to archaeology, cultural heritage, paleoenvironmental research, and allied fields, creating a welcoming space for interdisciplinary dialogue and international collaboration.
The establishment of the Radiocarbon Laboratory of the Fluminense Federal University (LAC-UFF) in 2012 prompted a surge of archaeological research employing ¹4C dating in Brazil. This includes chronological and environmental investigations across various contexts, from the iconic Brazilian coastal sambaquis to the southern cerritos.
The LAC-UFF has previously hosted important international events for the radiocarbon community, such as the I Latin American Radiocarbon Conference (CLARA) in 2019 and the Joint IAEA–Fluminense Federal University Workshop on Radiocarbon Accelerator Mass Spectrometry for Cultural and Natural Heritage Preservation in Latin America in 2024.

Registration terms and conditions
- Creacteve Eventos is the local Professional Congress Organizer, managing the registration process and is responsible for collecting the registration fees. You will receive a confirmation email after the payment is processed. If you need any particular receipt or invoice, please email creacteve@creacteve.com.br
- The total amount will be charged in REAIS (BRL – Brazilian Currency) – There might be some discrepancy in the final total in your currency, as the exchange rate fluctuates daily and depends exclusively on the banks and credit card companies.
- For onsite registrations, only cash, credit card or Pix (for Brazilians only) are accepted.
- The merchant name that would appear on your credit card statement will be “creacteve“.
- No refunds will be applied.
- A student attendee must provide a copy of his/her student ID or a letter from the related Department Head/Chair stating that the attendee is a full time student. The document can be uploaded during registration process.

- International payment via credit card, is accepted only via PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account to proceed to the payment. You can use your regular credit card even if you do not have a PayPal Account.
- If you prefer to pay via wire transfer please email us at creacteve@creacteve.com.br
- Participants who need to pay via wire transfer and require an invoice will be charged an additional US$ 25 fee to cover bank charges.
- All expenses must be borne by the delegate. If you are paying via wire transfer, intermediary bank fees may be applied, please verify with your local bank.
